Carmel Guitar Society - A nonprofit in good company

Since 1961 Carmel Guitar Society (Classic Guitar Society of Carmel) has dedicated time and resources to enriching the Monterey Bay with classical guitar appreciation, education and performance. Joining the board among the other volunteers has brought great community, art, and awareness to my professional life. Applying my skills in event promotion, digital art, negotiation and project planning, I’ve worked to support expansion of each program that the nonprofit organization offers. Additionally my work helped make one their most successful events to date take place in June of 2025 at Asilomar Resort. That guitar retreat brought not only artists and students together but all of the volunteers serving for Carmel Guitar Society. The four days on the beach in Pacific Grove were a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the time spent in my career bringing more community around music and building infrastructure and systems to support work and offerings of orgs such as this in the long term. As part of Monterey County Gives this year, the organization will be in good company, highlighted alongside other local nonprofits as part of one large campaign to raise funds for nonprofits enriching the central coast community.
